On the afternoon of September 26, 2024, Suoi Tien Cultural Theme Park, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, organized the “Vietnam-India Green Journey” Friendship Tree Planting Ceremony.
The event is part of the worldwide tree-planting campaign “EK Pedh Maa Ke Liye” (One Tree for Mother Earth), launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on World Environment Day (June 5, 2024). The campaign, with its core message #Plant4Mother, emphasizes the shared connection between nurturing Mother Earth and sustaining human life. It stands as a testament to global solidarity, environmental preservation, and the enduring bonds between nations.
The Vietnam-India Friendship Tree Planting Ceremony contributes significantly to environmental conservation, strengthens community ties, and builds a healthier planet for future generations. The event took place in the Friendship Garden at Suoi Tien, which spans over 10,000 square meters. This garden has been a symbol of unity since 1995, when over 700 pine trees were planted.
In a previous milestone on July 6, 2024, representatives from 25 consulates and 30 friendship associations participated in a ceremony to install nameplates on 35 pine trees, further solidifying the significance of this space.
The chosen tree for this year’s ceremony, the Van Nien Tung (Buddhist Pine), is renowned for its rarity, elegance, and symbolic meaning. Representing longevity, prosperity, and resilience, the Van Nien Tung embodies the harmony between humans and nature. The tree, adorned with nameplates, symbolizes the cultural and spiritual connection between Vietnam and India.
The successful planting of Van Nien Tung trees reaffirms Suoi Tien’s commitment to nurturing the Friendship Garden into a cultural and ecological destination. It serves as a bridge connecting international communities and fostering sustainable development for a greener future.
Located at the sacred Linh Cung Thap Nhi Giap (12 Zodiac Hill) and Phuc Cung Tam Phuoc Square, the Friendship Garden is beautifully adorned with:
- The Thuy Tu Fountain featuring golden statues of the 12 Zodiac Spirits.
- The Kim Son Waterfall cascading down Golden and Silver Mountains.
- The tranquil Ngoc Bao Luu Ly Lake, with majestic guardian statues welcoming visitors.
This harmonious blend of nature and cultural symbolism makes the Friendship Garden a unique attraction, evoking national pride and the aspiration for global unity while promoting an environmentally conscious future. 🌱🌏
